If you would like to register your interest with Converge International to join our service team you will need to have at least 2 years experience and hold at least one of the following memberships or registrations:

  • State Psychological Registration Board
  • Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Australian Counselling Association (ACA)
  • Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA)
  • Chaplaincy Endorsement from a nationally recognised pastoral institution
  • Other national mental health association or regulatory body

We value diversity in our service team, so if you're wondering whether you have the appropriate background or experience to work with Converge, here's a few things that we're always looking for:

  • Counselling / pastoral experience( i.e. solution focussed, short term, person centred, CBT, narrative)
  • Experience or exposure to EAP counselling
  • Trauma, Critical Incident, Crisis qualifications or experience
  • Mediation qualifications or experience
  • Private practitioners in regional locations
  • Associates with ABN & Insurance
  • Clear criminal records check or working with children check
  • Drivers licence and own vehicle

Student placements

Converge International offers limited student placements for Psychology and Human Resources students only. To register your interest, please email your resume and cover letter to recruitment@convergeinternational.com.au with STUDENT PLACEMENT in the subject heading.

Standard program

  • 2hrs supervision per week
  • 3mth duration
  • Psychology Students: 3 days per week (4 clients per week) – may vary
  • Human Resources Students: 2 days per week - Melbourne only
  • Finance Students
  • Coordinated by Converge International Clinical Director

Placement Criteria:

  • Students must be currently enrolled in either Psychology (Masters); Human Resources (any qualification); Accounting (Bachelor)
  • Prior counselling experience preferred
  • Mature approach & attitude required
  • Police clearance / working with childrens check required upon commencement
  • Two professional referees required

Volunteers

Are you are studying or have a keen interest or experience in these areas? Do you have spare time and the desire to make a difference? Then consider and making a valuable contribution in our volunteer team. Gain experience and exposure. Help us in our mission to protect the health and wellbeing of people in the workplace. We are seeking a number of volunteers to work in all our capital city offices. These are ongoing opportunities with flexible hours.

Standard program

  • Min 3 months
  • Min 2 days per week (flexible hours)
  • Combination of observation and practical work
  • Observation time includes max 30min Q&A time at the beginning, middle and end of each day.

Placement criteria

  • Experience, exposure, qualifications or a keen interest in one of the following: Employee Assistance Programs, corporate health, organisational psychology, finance, administration, counselling or Human Resources
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Positive disposition & a can do attitude
  • Mature & self motivated
  • Police clearance / working with childrens check required upon commencement
