Managing Mental Health Issues

Mental illness affects one in five Australians. This means most working Australians will at some time work alongside a person with a mental illness. Depression and anxiety disorders are the most common mental illnesses among Australians (SANE).

For this reason, it is essential organisations remain up-to-date with the latest information on mental illness, have policies and procedures in place to support people affected by mental illness, and work toward reducing the risk of litigation and workers' compensation claims.

Managing Mental Health Issues is a four hour workshop teaching more effective management of mental health issues in the workplace and providing the knowledge and capacity to help managers refer people in need for professional help. Effective management does not involve diagnosis.
