Monday, 10 September is World Suicide Prevention Day; this year’s theme is Working Together to Prevent Suicide.

In 2016, more than 2,800 Australians took their own lives. Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show male suicide rates are three times higher than those for females.

Figures from the World Suicide Prevention Day website show that 65,000 Australians attempt suicide each year.

Working together.

We can all play a role in supporting people close to us who are experiencing mental health challenges. By letting them know that we are there for them, we can help to address any isolation or helplessness they may feel. For more more information on checking in on your, or someone else’s, mental health read our recent Tip Sheet.

Converge International is always there for you; we provide 24 hour a day access to emergency support. In an emergency you can always speak with someone by calling 1300 OUR EAP (1300 686 327).

Get help when you need it.
